Although it may seem a bit quiet around here, that’s actually because we’re working on all kinds of cool stuff. There’s a mashup for music lovers, iTender, a project management tool, Nationale Beeldbank (just transfered from another company to us), new features for NU.nl TV Guide, another NU.nl project, a website for a new product by IceMobile, ConfNetwork (will be used for The Next Web Conference), forum migration for Web-log.nl, a theme site for Elmex Junior (ilse media) and a new website for Stockx Metal Trading. Thijs will be in New York this week, so the rest of us are fairly busy ;-)

UPDATE: A new version of the NU.nl TV Guide went online just now, adding 15 more channels.

Today we launched ConfNetwork for the Bowlr event. All people attending the event received an e-mail asking them to confirm their account. ConfNetwork is a business network intended to improve networking possibilities at conferences and other events. The network will be used for more events this year, with the nicest feature being that a visitors profile is “transported” to other events. Within the network you can see who you should meet, schedule appointments and tag people. Rest assured, it doesn’t have any “add as friend” buttons.

ConfNetwork is a Meganova/80beans joint venture.

Today the new Web-log.nl Help application launched, for which 80beans did the technical development. The application helps Web-log.nl users to find answers to questions about the software quickly. If no answer is found, a ticket may be entered in the OTRS ticketing system. Visitors may rank the given answers, so customer support can improve the content.

80beans has done the technical development for NU.nl TV Guide, which launched today. This EPG runs on the biggest Dutch news site NU.nl (400 million page views per month). Development was done in PHP and AJAX functionality was added as progressive enhancement.

Today we launched the Ethnic Chic Online Shop for our client Ethnic Chic. The shop features the exclusive and high quality items that Ethnic Chic also has on sale in their “real” shop. Ordering of products is easy and payments can be made using MasterCard, Visa or American Express (more payment methods to come).

80beans was once again responsible for the technical development of youth community Kaboem. This community has over 200,000 members between the ages 12 and 18. The new version of the site creates possibilities to connect with friends and more social networking features.

For Rabobank, one of the largest Dutch banks (45,000 employees), 80beans developed a site called “Brand Made Visible” in cooperation with Via Utrecht for use on the banks intranet. Employees can vote on pictures and video to determine who wins the “Fatima award”. Nominees were based on previous votes for pictures in the categories Sponsoring, Environment & Employees. The goal of the site is to make employees aware of the Rabobank values.

In cooperation with Van Gog we built the new website for Proof, an Amsterdam based communication/branding agency. Info about the company and the projects they have worked on are presented in a clear, newspaper like style.
