About
80beans develops web applications using Ruby on Rails. We have been using RoR in production environments since mid 2005, so you might call us early adopters. Until then we did our projects in Java and are able to help you out with that too. For the clients that don’t do any RoR yet, we have no problems developing in PHP.
For the front-end we use standards compliant, cross-browser, semantically correct (X)HTML. To spice things up we throw in some proper CSS and Javascript. We are comfortable with development according to the accessibility guidelines as set by the Dutch government.
Graphic design is not our cup of tea, but we work closely with a selection of designers. Most of the time our clients supply us with a design. We do know a thing or two about usability and interface design though.
Besides our client work we are also busy developing our own products. These will run as hosted applications. For multiple projects we have teamed up with others and started joint ventures
If you want to pay us a visit, send an e-mail or give us a call. We are happy to have you over at our office, located in the centre of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. From the central station it’s a 10 minute journey by tram (take line 16, 24 or 25, stop “Keizersgracht”) to the Duintjer-building (most notably housing the Abn-Amro bank). Of course we can also have a beer somewhere downtown.
We have access to a parking garage underneath the building (entrance on the left side of the building at the Prinsengracht), but we need to reserve your parking space a day in advance.
