NUik.nl just launched, the latest addition to the family of NU.nl websites. It’s an iGoogle-like application which displays content from the NU.nl network and some external content (more in the future). Users can create new pages and add widgets to them, which are often highly customizable. Widgets also work on iGoogle (click the “settings” icon to find out the URL for the gadget, as Google calls it)!
Widgets are built by several parties. We made the TV guide, NUjij and RSS widgets and gave extensive support to the other developing parties.

Client: ilse media
End client: NU.nl
We did: HTML, CSS, JavaScript & PHP (the widgets are rendered by Shindig)
Would be great if you support openid for this. I think it would be a nice feature.
Please come to the openidentiteit.nl meeting on openid or contact me to discuss the options.
For the time being we will be using the current system, based on ilse media’s IDM (Identity Management) system. This is a requirement, so we can’t change anything there :)
I think it has still to many bugs or flaws…
Each time wenn I add a RSS feed my whole layout gets messed up… This even happens when reloading the page… :X
Also moving the widgets is a pain in the ass I think… You need to have your cursor on the upper bar of each widget… if you don’t it doesn’t move… so you need to move your widget pretty slow with your cursor otherwise your cursor gets of the bar each time…
Also it is user unfriendly (imo) that you are not able to add RSS feeds by yourself you can only select from a list…
@Wouter: Thanks for your reply. Please direct your remarks to redactie@nu.nl, since we are not at liberty to provide support for our clients’ products.
